The purpose of the study is to analyze biblical scenarios in M. Kryvtsov’s book “Poems from the shot hole”, identifying remythologized characters, motifs and plots. The methods used to achieve the purpose are as follows: contextual (to investigate the author’s poems in the context of mythology), intertextual (to deconstruct texts in order to find mythological intertexts) and semiological (to identify semantics of the poet’s neomyth). When using the term “mythological scenario”, we refer to the concept introduced by Yu. Vyshnytska in her monograph.
Analysis of the poems of M. Kryvtsov’s book testifies that the author is characterized by a neo-mythological type of literary thinking that manifests itself in interpreting the modern reality through the prism of mythology applying the technique of resemantization. The poet mainly remythologizes biblical scenarios with the corresponding characters, motifs and plots, using «military» arrangement. The mtythologycal scenario of the end is the most distinctive scenario in the book that is reflected in the recurrent motif of death and the character of God, who is multifaceted: almighty and omniscient, on the one hand, and looking and behaving like a human being, on the other hand.
