У статті представлені результати досліджень органолептичних та фізико-хімічних властивостей 8 марок сухих кормів для дорослих кішок без особливих потреб. Гранули зразків кормів преміум- та супер- преміум- класів
мали однорідний жовтувато-коричневий або коричневий колір, зразків економ-класу - неоднорідні різні кольори (червоний, жовтий). Також проби кормів економ-класу мали неоднорідну структуру, де поряд з гранулами різної форми були представлені і подушечки, в той час як зразки кормів класів супер-преміум та преміум мали однорідні гранули округлої або циліндричної форми. Ідентифікація кормів за кольором та структурою корма показала відсутність ознак фальсифікації для кормів усіх марок.
Запах кормів преміум- та супер- преміум- класів як у сухому, так і в замоченому вигляді, в основному, визначався як хлібний або рибний, для кормів економ-класу, особливо у замоченому вигляді, були характерні відтінки оселедця або плісняви. Між кормами різних класів не виявлено закономірності щодо величини гранул, вони перебували в оптимальному діапазоні. Найбільший розмір мали гранули кормів Whiskas (економ-класу) та Royal Сanin (супер-преміум-класу), середній розмір мали гранули кормів Eucanuba, Hill’s (супер-преміум-класу) та Kitеcat (економ-класу). Водневі показники досліджених зразків всіх класів коливалися в межах 5,9 - 7,5, для зразків корму Club 4 Paws показник ухилявся в бік кислого середовища, а кормів Hill’s та Cat chow – лужного, що необхідно враховувати при плануванні годівлі кішок з проблемами травлення.
Усі досліджені зразки кормів були безпечними для кішок з точки зору відсутності металічних домішок, крім корму Kitеcat, були безпечними також щодо відсутності домішок піску.
Виходячи з результатів проведених досліджень, зразки кормів всіх класів, вони були безпечними для кішок за фізико-хімічними показниками та комфортними за розмірами гранул. Найбільш свіжими були зразки кормів Cat chow, Pro plan, Club 4 Paws, Royal Сanin та Eucanuba.
The article presents the results of studies of the organoleptic and physicochemical properties of 8 dry petfood brands for adult cats without special needs. Granules of the premium and super premium food samples had a uniform yellowish brown or brown color, economy class samples had heterogeneous different colors (red, yellow). Also, economy class food samples had a heterogeneous structure, where, along with granules of different shapes, pads were also presented, while samples of super-premium and premium class food had homogeneous round or cylindrical granules. Identification of petfood by color and structure of food showed no of the falsification signs for all petfood brands.
The smell of premium and super premium petfood, both dry and soaked, was mainly defined as bread or fish, for economy class petfood, especially in soaked form, hints of herring or mold were characteristic. There were no regularities in the size of the granules between the different classes’ petfoods; they were in the optimal range of size. Whiskas (economy class) and Royal Canin (super premium class) petfood granules were the largest, while Eucanuba, Hill's (super premium) and Kitecat (economy) class granules were medium sized. The hydrogen indicators of the studied samples of all classes ranged from 5.9 - 7.5, for the Club 4 Paws food samples the indicator biased towards an acidic environment, and for Hill's and Cat chow foods - alkaline, which should be considered when planning feeding for cats with digestive problems.
All tested petfood samples were safe for cats in terms of the absence of metallic impurities; except for Kitecat, they were also safe in the absence of sand impurities.
Based on the study’s results carried out, samples of all petfood classes were safe for cats in terms of physicochemical parameters and comfortable in terms of granule size. The freshest were Cat chow, Pro plan, Club 4 Paws, Royal Canin and Eucanuba samples.
