Abstract:
In our time, unfortunately, the position of individual ecological and geographical forms of the Russian sturgeon is not systematically fixed. In this regard, we have carried out special studies aimed at determining individual morphological features of the Russian sturgeon of the Dnieper population.
Special studies were carried out on the basis of the Dnieper sturgeon fish breeding plant. The material for the research was sexually mature individuals of the Russian sturgeon of the Dnieper population, caught in the Dnieper-Bug estuary and delivered to the plant for the purposes of artificial reproduction. , sometimes a significant difference against the background of a rather small variability of these signs. However, to substantiate and substantiate the presence of a separate subspecies of Russian sturgeon in the Dnieper, it is necessary to continue research with the involvement of the maximum number of not only morphological, but also physiological, biochemical and genetic characters.
