Abstract:
Reproductive traits of sows determine the scale of rearing and fattening of
piglets, the amount of breeding products. The signs of reproductive traits are
believed to have the lowest values of heredity coefficients, but these indicators
can be improved in interbreed crossing.
In this case, maternal breeds are to be characterized by high fertility, intensive
growth, while paternal ones should display rapid growth rates and good meat
qualities. Raising the quality of reproduction takes place through crossing two–four
breeds of different productivity directions. Many scientists have found an increase
in reproductive performance of pigs crossed
