Description of the historical stages of the aquatic ecosystems formation in the lower Dnieper section caused by hydrographic changes in the river basin

Abstract

The article presents a periodization of the main hydrological and geological changes that occurred within the lower Dnieper section under the influence of hydrographic changes in the river basin. The stages of formation of the geomorphological structure of the lower Dnieper section from the Late Pleistocene to the present day are considered. According to the periodization, it is proposed to distinguish 6 main periods in the historical development of the lower Dnieper section that influenced the formation of its aquatic ecosystems state.
