Abstract:
Special studies were conducted in some areas of the Dnieper-Bug estuary in the spring-autumn periods of 2020 - 2021. The material of the research was bream of different age groups. In sampling and subsequent analysis, the methods commonly used in fisheries research were used. The main morphological and biological indicators of the bream herd were carefully analyzed, the dynamics of linear growth and body weight growth were considered, the sex and age composition were determined, the reproductive potentials of the herd were considered, and the industrial condition of the herd was analyzed.
The analysis showed increased fishing pressure on the bream herd of the Dnieper-Bug estuary, which was indicated by the deterioration of the age structure of the herd, a decrease in the growth rate and a fall in catches. It was proposed to reduce the industrial pressure on the Lower Dnieper bream herd while increasing the industrial measure on bream to 34-36 cm, which will bring the sexually immature part of the herd out from under industrial pressure.
