Abstract

The basics of sturgeon production at the enterprises of the corresponding orientation are stated. The general principles and species-specific features of reproduction and cultivation of different age groups of sturgeons are determined. Some attention is paid to the formation of repair and uterine herds in the conditions of artificial reproduction. Sturgeon farming is an integral part of the existing plan for training specialists in the field of aquatic bioresources and as such is based on a preliminary study of such fundamental and applied disciplines as zoology, ichthyology, physiology, genetics. For effective self-realization in the field of sturgeon, the specialist must have a wide range of knowledge in various disciplines, provided by the curricula of relevant educational institutions.
