Financial English: A Practical Course for Bachelor Students : practical guidebook

Abstract

The practical guidebook “Financial English: A Practical Course For Bachelor Students” aims to provide an integrated study of financial processes and financial management through the prism of the English language. It enables the fourth-year students of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education to: 1) deepen their understanding of key financial concepts; 2) expand their active and passive vocabulary with professional English vocabulary used in the financial sector; 3) apply theoretical knowledge in practice; 4) develop analytical and critical thinking; 5) independently master relevant financial information; 6) plan their continuous professional development. Each lecture is designed in the format of a scientific article/scientific report. The manual focuses on the comprehensive mastery of four types of speech activity in English (reading, speaking, writing, listening) and the acquisition of financial terminology. The manual is intended for students of higher education in Ukraine majoring in D1, D2, D3, D5, and D7 in the field of knowledge D Business, Administration, and Law, who are studying the discipline “Foreign Language for Professional Purposes”. The practical guidebook will also be helpful for English teachers and anyone who wants to improve their professional communication in the financial industry.
